Stepping Stones (2013)
Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, gold leaf and gold thread.
This view of Bolton Abbey is quite contrived and is more how I think it is remembered than how it is seen. The stepping stones and the stepped path form a S shape in the composition. The green beneath the Abbey hides little arches and patterns from the graves. Devonshire house can't be seen from the river, but we know it's there. I have tried to capture the warmth of the stone on this very hot, still day.
Available as a signed limited edition print, hand-finished with gold leaf and gold thread. All prints are mounted and can be posted, unless purchased framed.
