Four for a Boy (2013)
Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, gold leaf and gold thread.
I have had so many happy family days out in Skipton, and this painting is for my children. We always visit the church, and then the castle. We took our twins when they were only a few weeks old, bundled up in papooses, whilst Hattie ran around the great hall, and round and round the Old Yew inside the castle walls. I don't know why I included the magpies, other than that they somehow seemed to belong there: '…three for a girl, four for a boy…'. Well perhaps that's for the twins.
Available as a signed limited edition print, hand-finished with gold leaf and gold thread. All prints are mounted and can be posted, unless purchased framed.
