Foxgloves and Bees

Foxgloves and Bees (2021)

Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, watercolour, loose pigment, collage, gold thread, 23 carat gold leaf

Painted as part of The Nightingale Project: a series of trees and nature inspired by lock down in The Calder Valley from March 2020 to March 2021 (and the brief escapes from it over the summer).

The elements of a June lock down walk. The trees in a dry stone wall enclosure by Pinnacle Farm, near Stoodley Pike. The foxgloves full of bees, walking back through Crow Nest Woods. Everything very hot and still, and quiet apart from the humming of bees.

Available as a signed limited edition print, hand-finished with gold leaf and gold thread. All prints are mounted and can be posted, unless purchased framed.

Finished dimensions: 37cm x 39cm
