Bluebell Walk

Bluebell Walk (2021)

Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, watercolour, loose pigment, collage, gold thread, 23 carat gold leaf

Painted as part of The Nightingale Project: a series of trees and nature inspired by lock down in The Calder Valley from March 2020 to March 2021 (and the brief escapes from it over the summer).

Growing up in Suffolk I never saw a bluebell wood. To me, they’re a West Yorkshire thing. This is a tree by the river in Hardcastle Crags. The children and I walked there with a picnic one day in May. We almost came home with two abandoned ducklings in Robin’s straw hat.

Available as a signed limited edition print, hand-finished with gold leaf and gold thread. All prints are mounted and can be posted, unless purchased framed.
