Lumb Bank (2018)
Original media: Inks, gouache, acrylics, pencils, watercolour, gold leaf and gold thread.
Painted for 'Craggs & Fells' – a solo exhibition at Heart Gallery, Hebden Bridge.
Lumb Bank was the home of Ted Hughes. It sits below Slack and Heptonstall, on a steep sided hill that drops down to Colden water. The white arch of the house is often striking – catching the sun, while the deep valley below remains shaded and dark. Elmet is from 'The Remains of Elmet' (1979), a volume of poems evoked by the landscape (Elmet was an ancient name for the West Riding).
Available as a signed limited edition print, hand-finished with gold leaf and gold thread. All prints are mounted and can be posted, unless purchased framed.
Finished dimensions: 54.5cm x 81.5cm
